Match ends, Portsmouth 0, Lincoln City 0.
Portsmouth's first home game of the League One season ended in an uninspiring goalless draw against Lincoln.
Nearly 18,000 fans saw a dull game at Fratton Park which tested the players' fitness in sweltering conditions.
Five home debutants were unable to help break the deadlock in the first 45 minutes - Lincoln failed to have a single shot on target, whereas Pompey managed four.
Reeco Hackett had the best of those chances on 43 minutes, having two bites of the cherry. His first effort bounced off goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, but his follow-up effort under pressure was way over the crossbar.
The second half did not fare much better, although Pompey made four substitutions and Lincoln two.
The changes brought the game to life, but shots on target and goals failed to materialise as Pompey boss Danny Cowley was forced to settle for a point against his old club.

Where was the creativity?
Where were the runners?
No through balls, diagonal balls… nothing… I can see another wasted season… The Eisners either get rid of them now or wait until Christmas when it’s too late
Listening to him on the radio he called it “hopeful football” i.e. boot the ball up top and hope for the best…
These brothers have to go… this is kind of football is ok at non-league level but we pay to be entertained and see some decent football…
Hoof ball can be orchestrated by anyone….And why on earth are you playing players who are not well?!
We have two creative players, Crackers and Pack, but they can't create when Griffiths is hoofing balls over their heads.
I'm still not convinced by Hackett, Curtis is only effective on the left, and the two strikers weren't in it.
